How to fill the Secure Gravel Bags

Filling Material
Fill your Secure Gravel Bags with a smooth rock material;  pea gravel/stone is recommended since it is less abrasive than other rock and allows water to flow freely through it.

Each bag takes roughly 14kgs worth of pebble, so 14 times how many bags you've ordered is the total kg amount of pebble you'll need to fill them.

Filling Method
A large, traffic-type cone will work as a funnel to fill your Secure Gravel Bags. Simply cut off the tip and flip it upside down. This size works well with the size of a standard shovel. If you are filling large volumes, contact your local dealer or distributor for ways to build a permanent funnel.

Insert Zip Tie
Each Secure Gravel Bag comes with a heavy duty UV resistant zip tie. Pre-punch a hole with a screwdriver or awl to slide the zip tie through the fabric. Poke one end of the zip tie through the gravel bag about 1/2" in from the side seam and about 6" down.

Filling Specifications
Each Secure Gravel Bag should be filled to a level approximately 3-4" below the zip tie position. Do not fill to the top. This extra space will allow the gravel to move and reduce pressure on the bag as it is dropped.  Weigh the bags for consistency.

Tying
Once filled, wrap the zip tie around and close it. Tighten by hand only. Do not over tighten.
